ABOUT us

Located in Hankham, just outside of Eastbourne, between the South Downs and the Pevensey Levels, Peelings Manor Barns offer a charming, rustic, spacious, DIY venue suitable for events such as wedding receptions, birthday parties, anniversaries, corporate events and photo/film shoots.

The manor of Peelings is mentioned in the Domesday Book, but there has been a settlement on the site since Anglo-Saxon times and probably long before that. Peelings Manor and farm buildings are Grade II listed, with the earliest surviving part of the manor house dating from the late 15th century, and the farm buildings from the 1850s.

Most of the farm buildings were restored and converted in the 1980s. They are currently let out to small businesses.

The traditional Sussex flint barn and barn yard are let out for events and are the perfect blank canvas for your wedding reception or special celebration.

We were closed for a period, for renovation work, and re-opened for business in 2017. Our first season back we were fully booked through-out the summer. We do very little marketing as most of our promotion seems to be by word of mouth, which we think is brilliant.

If you’d like to see for yourself what a beautiful venue we have contact us about arranging a visit.
